Are You A “Country Junkie?”

We love country music. I’m guessing you do too. This past summer we were talking to some friends about attending the Kenny Chesney concert at Gillette Stadium. We were talking about any possible changes being made because hurricane Irene was heading our way with it’s path of destruction. Would the concert be cancelled or would we be sitting in the middle of a hurricane listening to the Zac Brown Band, Billy Currington and of course Kenny Chesney? As we all laughed at the thought of being soaked for 3 hours someone sitting behind us had been listening to our conversation. Without blinking an eye he chimed in…”I’m going no matter what because I’m a country junkie.”  After a moment of silence and a few sips of beer we all agreed…we are all country junkies!

We can all name obscure country bands and songs and depending on how many cold one’s we’ve had we can usually recite Johnny Cash’s play list from Folson Prison. We all have iPods filled with country songs and depending on how we feel we can dial up a song to match our mood. From kick ass country with Jason Aldean to reflective songs by George Strait, Vince Gill and the Judds we have’em all. We can go to the islands with Kenny Chesney,Zac Brown and Billy Currington or “Marry for Money” with Trace Adkins. From outstanding award winning singers like Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and Martina McBride to the great “tongue in cheek” songs by Brad Paisley listening to country music can be funny, fun, romantic and heartbreaking all at the same time! And the more you listen to the “new” country the more respect you  have for country music’s history and and all the great artists that help make it what it is today.

Many current country stars tip their hat with mentions of the great country singers before them. Listen carefully and you will hear them mention some of the greats like Dolly Parton, George Jones,Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Tammy Wynette and the fabulous Loretta Lynn.

So yes…we love country music. The hats, the boots, the music, the tailgating and the dreams of long country roads, the sound of a John Deere tractor and smell of clean country air! We are…country junkies!

Do you like to take a back road if you ever get the chance,

Do you get Country Fest tickets and pay the 8 months in advance?

Do you want to spend your days on tractors,

Or at rodeo’s ropin steer,

Does your truck have muddy tires,

And a cooler filled with beer?

Is your iPod filled with country tunes,

And songs about Cowboys,

And do you pop some tops at concerts,

To get loud and make some noise?

Do you spend your days with horses,

Or just wishin’ that was true,

Well, if you said YES to any of these questions,

Your a COUNTRY JUNKIE Too!

Buy A Cool Country-Themed T Shirt…Plant A Tree!

Gone Country T Shirts is partnering up with “Trees for the Future” plants trees where they are most needed. And…is it just me or is it pretty obvious that you can’t enjoy the country without trees! Right? I mean…that would be a desert.  And we are not going to change the name of our company to Gone Desert T Shirts! And putting down some sand for every shirt we sold just doesn’t mean the same. So our brain trust here at GCTS decided that it would be in the best interest of everyone involved that we do our part to insure that our children and your children and our children’s children and your children’s children can enjoy the country just like we do! WITH TREES! Sweet, huh?

So when you buy a “Gone Country T Shirt” or a “Laidback” T Shirt from our website or from one of our retailers we will plant a tree! “Buy A T, Plant A Tree!” Genius I tell ya!

And more good news! When you buy a T from our website we will include a semi-fancy sticker suitable for pasting to a wall, slapping on the fridge or sticking on your forehead that proclaims that you are a GOOD PERSON and you are DOING YOUR PART to insure that future generations will know what a tree is! Go ahead…take a bow…you deserve it.

We think this is so important that we are thinking of renaming this campaign as…ready for this?…”Plant a Tree…get a Shirt.”

“Laidback Country Brand”

Each week we receive a sales report from “Webmaster Ernie” on how “Gone Country T Shirts” has done the previous week. Every week our online sales grows by a pretty good percent and we really appreciate all our loyal customers! But one specific area of our T-Shirt sales is growing really, really fast…Laidback Country Boy and Laidback Country Girl! WOW! I mean every order has at least one Laidback design included and many orders include ONLY our Laidback country designs! So…we hear you!
We are happy to say that we have been very busy creating new Laidback designs and the response has been excellent! One recent customer from Arizona called these the “perfect country shirts” because they are understated, comfortable and the graphics accurately depict “Laidback Country” perfectly! Thanks Tami! :)
So…when you go to your next Kenny Chesney or Zac Brown concert you will be wearing the lifestyle!

Summer Comes To An End…

Well…Summer ended with a BANG! Irene left her calling card here at Gone Country Ts and shut us down for a day or so. But we will back up and printing the countries coolest country shirts before you know it! We are very anxious to show you our new designs for fall/winter 2011 and spring 2012! We have been creating some new looks here at GCT’s based on the overwhelming (thank you!) online sales we have been getting.

We haven’t been doing many festivals the past couple of months so we don’t have any “Festival Reports” at this time. Our “Crack Festival Team” has been otherwise engaged and we are too busy here at GCT’s World Headquarters to break out the tent and hit the festival trail. I know many of you have emailed us asking what festivals we will be doing and we appreciate your interest! We replied to all the emails and most of you were able to purchase online. Thanks!

A group of us just went to the “Goin’ Coastal” tour  at Gillette Stadium. Everyone knows what a great concert Kenny Chesney puts on but when you add The Zac Brown Band and Billy Currington…well…you have a party! I will be posting some great pics from the concert. We had fabulous floor seats so we got some excellent pics!

On that note we leave you with a cool video of sunrise on St. Thomas to remember summer by…

Country Throwdown was a big success…and FUN!

First off…a big shout out to all of our new customers and friends we made at the FABULOUS Country Throwdown at the Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion in Guilford NH this past weekend! Willie Nelson, Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser and many other great acts ROCKED the house most of the day and into the night! It was a country fans dream! If you ever want to experience one of the best venues for country music and party with great country bands and fans you must check out Meadowbrook!
And…what makes a perfect day better? Gone Country T Shirts sold out of many of our very cool country T shirts and tanks and the feedback from the thousands of country fans that stopped by our booth was awesome! The biggest complaint? We ran out of some styles too soon! (We hate it when that happens!) But the emails started coming in over the Memorial Day Weekend and we will make sure everyone that wants a shirt GETS a shirt! Hey! That’s what we do!
Our Crack Festival Team consisting of Dr. K and the Fabulous Cheryl had a great time…and who wouldn’t? With Willie and Jamey Johnson singing in the background and customers loving our product line it was a party in New Hampshire! Thank you!
Dr. K took a couple of pics of some happy customers who rushed off to put on their NEW Gone Country T Shirts.

This young lady is rockin’ our “KISS MY GRITS” t-shirt.

This trio of young ladies were having a great time! The girl in the middle is wearing our NEW T shirt and tank top…“IF YOU MESS WITH ONE COUNTRY GIRL YOU GOT US ALL.” Unfortunately for many fans we ran out of that style very early in the day. You can still order it online here at our website!

This country fan just purchased our LAST “BEER DRINKER AND A HELL RAISER” T Shirt. He told the Crack Festival Team he was purchasing it as a gift.

We hope to see many of you at future festivals (we will post them here and on our Facebook page.) Until then… a big thank you to the folks at Country Throwdown and the good people at Meadowbrook! We had a BLAST!

Big Weekend Coming Up For Gone Country T Shirts!

We are heading out Saturday morning for the “Country Throwdown” in New Hampshire. Willie Nelson is heading up an All -Star cast for a fun time at a rockin’ concert that will go on all day!

Gone Country T’s has been granted one of the few booths inside the venue and we will be ready to spread the word to 15,000 country fans about our very cool t’s and tanks.

Our design department has come up with a number of new designs to bring to the concert and we are very excited to show them to our fans. Before they were “tagged, bagged and boxed” I managed to get a pic of one of them:

We hope to see many of our regular local customers and hope to make a bunch of new “Gone Country T Shirts”  customers. Now…time for Willie…

May Chill Chills The Chili Cook Off

So on we go…sloggin through the overcast, rainy and not so spring-like New England Chili Fest Schedule. When the Gone Country T Shirt Company teamed with the Crack Festival Team we had one goal. We wanted to show the world our very cool new line of country music themed t-shirts. We know people love them…we just want MORE people to see them and love them! Ahem…is that too much to ask? A couple of sunny spring weekends? Geeez! And I know 100 other vendors asking the same thing!

So the Crack Festival Team…this time consisting of Crack Festival Team President Dr. K and a new trusted companion the Wonderful Liz. (the Fabulous Cheryl went to California to escape the “Super Spring” here in New England) The anticipation was sky high for a kick-ass festival spreading the word about our Gone Country T’s and Tanks!

The display looked aces…

And as you can see here the Wonderful Liz was chili (or is that Chilly? brrrr) but ready for ACTION!

The other 100 vendors we all primed and ready for the day to begin…just waiting on the crowds!

But alas…they never came. But that didn’t faze the Crack Festival Team because they sprang into action with big smiles, hello’s and howdy’s. They played some great country tunes on their boom box and they did make some new customers and friends! And that folks is what it’s all about! Hell yeah!

So…maybe we didn’t sell as many shirts as we expected and maybe it was a little chilly and overcast but it looks like Dr. K and the Wonderful Liz had a good time…

Don’t forget…you don’t have to wait to see the Crack Festival Team at a festival near you this summer. You can always purchase the coolest country music and country themed t-shirts right here at our website. Our t-shirts are top quality, hand printed and are always inspired by country livin’ and today’s country music hits. We always welcome your comments and feedback! We are country fans and we make “Contemporary Apparel for the Modern Country Fan!”

Gettin’ Chilly at the Chili Fest with Gone Country T’s!

We  were looking forward to the New England Regional Chili Cookoff in Somers, Ct. on May 7th! “Mad Mike” the king of all things Chili loved our shirts and was excited to have us as a vendor! And we were excited to be there! The anticipation was building as we whipped our fabulous production crew into a frenzy and we printed, bagged and tagged our whole line of Gone Country T shirts  for the big day! Not many of you know that we hand print to order our T Shirts. We own a screen printing company  so we don’t stock ahead of time. As the orders roll in we print your order, tag it and bag it just for you! And sometimes we include a few extra goodies!

Early (very early!) our Crack Festival Team consisting of Dr. K and the Fabulous Cheryl arrived on the festival grounds and proceeded to erect our booth. After hoisting up our company banner (yay!) “Mad Mike”, the king of all things Chili made his first appearance:

We presented him with a shirt he previously requested, he blessed our booth and off he went to probably have some chili! Well, maybe not. It was about 8am.

So we get our booth up and it’s lookin’ fine…

The crowds start to enter the chili fest about 11ish and by 12 noon the fabulous Cheryl, Vice President of the Crack Festival Team was enjoying life!

As the day wore on…actually as the hour wore on…it was only 1pm now… the sky started to get dark and gray. The Crack Festival Team was selling our fabulous t’s and tanks and chili aprons like hotcakes but the weather decided we had had enough fun for the day! The sky opened up and the crowd…well the crowd figured that wet t shirts are only meant for spring break and watered down chili just didn’t have the right taste…headed for the comfort of home. So the Crack Festival Team went about rain-proofing our Gone Country T’s and stuff and started packing up for the trip home.

All in all it was a very good day for Gone Country T Shirts! We sold a lot of T’s, made some new customers and friends and we are looking forward to next year with “Mad Mike”, the king of all things chili and the New England Regional Chili Cookoff! We will just be bringing more rain gear that’s for sure!
